About two or three weeks ago, I was on my way to a night of prayer. On my way there, I learnt something beautiful that I would like to share with you.

Here is the thing….. I had left home later than I should have, and it was pretty dark out there. And as I walked out of the gate, the guard at my home asked me where I was going and when I told him, he said “Let me escort you, it’s dark.” I was very grateful for his kind gesture.

The more we walked the darker it got. Minibuses were nowhere to be found. Eventually I started getting scared and I couldn’t hide it anymore so I told him a number of times that I was scared.

The third or fourth time that I told him that I was scared he looked at me and said “Madam you are with me and you are still scared? I am here to protect you, don’t be afraid…..” These words touched me. As if that was not enough, he then started telling me about the places he had worked before and I was amazed.

This was the man who protects the entire neighborhood in our fence and at this particular time he was only with me. Protecting me and I still was scared?

Honestly, it made me reflect on Christ and how we often doubt His power in our lives, at how sometimes we easily forget that He is with us always and we worry, cry, struggle and doubt as though we are alone, when He has constantly assured us that He will never leave us nor forsake us….

And as if that is not enough, even though we are reminded on the things He has done for us, even by just creating us, giving us a new life, we still doubt Him.

And I wonder if this morning Jesus Christ is not surprised by the way you doubt Him and still choose to be hopeless whilst He is within you.

This piece comes as a reminder and an encouragement, that you should never forget that God is with you, no matter what you are going through. In your relationship, in your marriage, in your studies, in your ministry, in you believing God for a job, in your workplace, as you write, even in your spiritual struggles just remember that The Good Lord is forever with you and He knows and sees all that is going through in your life… You are a testimony in the making.
